500 days: Ministry of External Relations prepares reception of over 200 nations

For Minister Mauro Vieira, Olympics will show the foundations of a free and inclusive society

In addition to athletes, delegations, employees of the event’s organising entities and tourists, during the 2016 Olympics and Paralympics, Brazil will play host to heads of state and authorities from over 200 nations. In order to play host to so many different cultures and people, the Ministry of External Relations has a plan and network in place, ready to act in the transmission and collection of important information for the staging of the Games.

Five hundred days away from the Olympics, Minister Mauro Vieira provides details of the ministry’s preparation for the Games. Moreover, he affirms that in addition to being facilitated by previous experiences, the staging of another big sporting event will represent the consolidation of a cycle that has seen Brazil act as an agent in the international arena, serving to once more show the world the foundations of a free and inclusive society.
