We are 30 days away from the opening of the Olympic Games, and the Torch has now visited all Brazilian states

By the end of the relay route, over 12,000 torchbearers will have carried the flame to the Games' official pyre on August 5

Thirty days from now, the whole world will be tuned to the opening ceremony of the 2016 Games at the Maracanã Stadium on 5 August. In addition to the projects and facilities that have been completed and tested in Rio de Janeiro, the Torch Relay gives Brazilians a sense of the grand event drawing closer. Athletes, artists and the man on the street that have been chosen for their background carried the Olympic symbol throughout beaches, the Cerrado savannah, woods, capital cities, the hinterlands, rivers, forests, waterfalls, historic ruins, and caves. On both paved and unpaved roads, in the air and in the water, the footage reveals some of Brazil's most enchanting landscapes.

All in all, the tour will include 300 cities and cover about 20,000 kilometres across all regions of Brazil.
The journey began on April 21, in Greece, where the Torch was lit in Olympia, birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games. After touring Greece, the Torch was handed over officially to Brazil on April 27.

The starting point for the relay in Brazil was the Country's capital, Brasilia, on May 3. All Brazilian states have now been covered by the tour of the Torch. In this final stretch, other cities in Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro will join the celebration.

During the tour of Brazil, the Torch will have been carried by a total of approximately 12,000 torchbearers, and will have flown 10,000 miles. The Olympic symbol will visit 83 municipalities chosen as "celebration towns": each of these locations will host a large event, which includes musical concerts and other attractions. All 27 state capitals and the Federal District are included.
