Aerial footage shows construction works for Rio 2016 four months from the start of the Games

Four months to go to the opening of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games on 5 August, final adjustments are being done to venues to play host to athletes. Footage recorded by the Ministry of Sport team in April, which may downloaded in high resolution, provide a panorama of the situation at the Barra Olympic Park, the Olympic Villa, the Deodoro Olympic Park in Rio de Janeiro, as well as the Brazilian Paralympic Centre (CPB), which is being finalised in São Paulo.

Throughout April several venues are being used during test-events. Arena Carioca 1, which has already hosted basketball, wheelchair rugby and taekwondo competitions, will be the stage of the weight lifting event between 7 and 10 April.

Also in the Barra Olympic Park, the Water Sports Stadium will be used three times: first between 15 and 20 April, when it will host the Maria Lenk Trophy; then, with the Paralympic swimming International Open Caixa between 22 and 24 April; and finally by the water polo, from 25 to 29 April.

In Deodoro, the Olympic Shooting Centre seems to be the venue to be in, legacy of the Rio 2007 Pan American Games and refitted for the Rio 2016 Games. The venue will play host to a stage of the shooting World Cup between 14 and 25 April.
